Fall 2024 Happy Hour

We kicked off the year with a nice backyard gathering on a beautiful afternoon.

Tamalada 2024

Dedicated tamale-makers got together to make El Salvadorian and Mexican-style tamales.

Our 2024 Day of the Dead celebration had crafts, food, community and an honoring of our ancestors!

Malbec & Tapas Party - Date TBD - Winter 2024

Our resident Piedmont Malbec expert Karna will lead a tasting complete with empanadas and other tasty Argentine snacks.  A contribution of $30 per person will cover the cost of food. If you're interested, email shannon.fierro@gmail.com

Potluck and Spring Get Together

Bust out your abuela's recipe for arepas, empanadas, and arroz con leche.  Folks brought their A game last year so bring your appetites and prepare for a delicious evening in Piedmont Park con vecinos.

Our Inaugural Event!

On Sunday, March 27, 2022 The Grupo Latino de Piedmont launched with over 75 community members joining in Piedmont Park for a potluck and socializing.  There were foods from Spain to the Caribbean to all corners of Latin America.  We ate, we spoke Spanglish, we swayed to the music and we laughed.  See you at the next one.

Dia de los Muertos Ofrenda

In late October 2022, members of the Piedmont community led by Piedmont resident and Havens parent Raquel Navarro built a beautiful ofrenda to honor the departed.  The display included information about the holiday and symbolism as well as a craft project for students to create their own papel picado.

Piedmont Native on the Mexico National Lacrosse Team!
